Helen is a Certified Clinical Musician (Harp for Healing), a program accredited by the National Standards Board for Therapeutic Musicians. She has a university degree in psychology and combines this with her musical experience to provide therapeutic music to those wanting the healing and health-giving benefits of the harp.
Helen plays harp at a regional hospital for those in palliative care (and EOL) and also in oncology, dialysis and maternity units. For over 10 years Helen has been presenting harp meditation sessions at a cancer support centre for patients and their carers. She also provides harp music to residents at nursing homes including residents with dementia/Alzheimer’s and those in high care.
Helen was classically trained on piano and flute before changing to harp. She has played with the Philharmonic South West Orchestra and has been teaching harp for over 15 years. She has a CD titled ‘Drifting’ and you can listen to samples of the music on Helen’s website.
Helen’s music is eclectic and she plays all types of genre from classical, Celtic, folk, contemporary and therapeutic. Helen’s goal is to bring peace, relaxation and healing to people through her harp music.
